In Like a Lion... And a Leopard

I don't know of a better way to start a new year than with lions and leopard, so that's what I did January 1st.  My challenge piece for the day is obviously the leopard print dress (another of my favorite pieces), and the earrings and asymmetrical lion necklace are more fresh creations.

Dress, thrifted; tights, Walmart; necklace and earrings, handmade by me.  Wow.  Not much to list today.

We filled 4 gallon Ziploc bags today, and
probably have another 40 lbs to shell.
Have I mentioned that Georgia is a magical place where pecans rain down from the sky?  It is, and Stephen's great aunt and uncle gave us 72 pounds of the nuts in the shell.  I spent most of the day today shelling them and watching movies with my mom, so I didn't bother adding shoes to the ensemble.

I'm an old married person, and I'm not used to staying up until two in the morning.  Most of today's photos looked like the one one the left with bags under my eyes that make me look like the undead.  That's okay.  I love this necklace so darn much I don't care what I look like in the photos.  Here are some more shots of the jewelry without the tired model.

The necklace is composed of two strands of mixed topaz glass seed beads embellished with carved semi-precious stone lions on one side and green and bronze crystals on the other.  The earrings are simple clusters of green and bronze crystals.  I am considering making a second set like this to list on etsy.  I like this one too much to part with it.

  1. That necklace is awesome! I love the stone lions.

What are you going to do with 72 lbs of pecans?
