Bland Blend

The colors in this dress are a little bland.  It is beige with black stripes, but it also has slimming black insets on the sides and, best of all, pockets(!).

Shrug, thrifted; dress, Target; tights, Target; boots, Rack Room Shoes; necklace, gifted (thanks, Holly!); earrings, Claire's.

The bubble necklace brought some much-needed color to the sea of beige and black.  Thanks, Holly!

Get Lucky

This song has nothing to do with Saint Patrick's Day, but it's catchy and contains the word "lucky."

This outfit doesn't have much to do with Saint Patrick's Day either, but it has some green and it's what I wore yesterday.

Shrug, TJ Maxx; shirt, Walmart; skirt, Target; tights, Target; booties, thrifted; earrings and ear cuff, Claire's; necklace, gifted (thanks, Mom!); jacket, Target.

I wore this necklace thinking that maybe the melusine existed in Irish folklore.  She does, sort of.

This jacket is on clearance at Target.  I like that it has a moto jacket fit with the comfort of jersey.

Blue Suede Shoes

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen this photo posted last week.  My friend and coworker Holly and I coordinated to wear our blue suede shoes on the same day.  We cajoled another coworker's boyfriend to take a picture of our stylish feet.

Jacket, thrifted; tee, Walmart; skirt, Target; tights, Target; booties, Rack Room Shoes; necklace, ebay; earrings, Claire's; glasses, Firmoo.com.

Stephen told me I looked very professional.  It must be the jacket or the glasses.  Glasses always make you look more serious and professional.  It definitely isn't the shoes.

I love these glasses from Firmoo.com and they were insanely affordable.  I caught them with a "take 60% off your entire purchase" coupon, so these plus a pair of prescription sunglasses were only around $50 total.  They're leopard print-ish, so they'll go with a lot of my wardrobe.

Almost Accidental

I really like my sartorial "rule of threes."  One is a statement, two could be an oversight, three is a battle cry.  Or something like that.  I intentionally paired this lion-head necklace with grey leopard tights, but, since there are only two examples of big cat pride in this ensemble, it might as well be an accident.

Whenever possible, crop the pug into
the frame.
Sweater, Walmart; skirt, thrifted; tights, Walmart; boots, Rack Room Shoes; earrings, Claire's; necklace, ebay.

Say goodbye to my old glasses.  I have had them for at least four years, but they've never been a first choice when compared with contacts.  I've recently added fours pairs of new prescription glasses to my wardrobe, and I like them enough to wear them before my eyes feel like they're falling out.

I had more fun with this than the typical black and grey outfit.  The feline touches and buckle-detailed boots added interest to an otherwise boring color palette.

Rosy

I love this extra-girly dress, though I wish it wasn't quite so short.  I'm not sure I'll be able to continue wearing it to work once it is too hot for tights.

Shrug, thrifted; dress, Target; tights, Walmart; shoes, Target; earrings and necklace, ebay; bracelet, Claire's.

I pattern-mixed with lacey tights and added more girlishness with cameo earrings and necklace and a floral bracelet.  Target had these green suede shoes on clearance, and they perfectly picked up the muted green in the dress's flowers.
