Saving My Energy

Signs point to this week being a battle, but today should be a brief reprieve.  I am saving my sartorial and emotional energy for the days to come.  I dressed lazy from head to toe: lazy glasses, lazy earrings (studs), lazy shirt, lazy slacks (redundant), lazy shoes.  In spite of all the laziness, I really like the outfit.  I guess this is what happens when I put thought into my apparel most days- even on days I don't things come together.  I think it has a bit of a retro vibe.

Amazingly, none of this outfit is thrifted.  It has been a while since I wore an outfit with no thrifted components.  I did buy everything on clearance though, so you know I haven't been abducted by aliens.
I got a pendant like this for my sister as well.
I really hope she likes it.
Lazy shoes and blue toes.
This is the same nail color I had at my wedding.

Top, Merona, Target; camisole, Rue 21; slacks, Younkers; sandals, Merona, Target; earrings, Claires; circuit board pendant, Beadwork by Amanda, etsy; ring (not shown, oops), gifted (thanks Pop).

I have officially rekindled my obsession with the Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire.  Stephen and I watched a couple episodes of Season 2 of the HBO series, I started re-reading the books, and I bought the Game Of Thrones Soundtrack from Amazon.  It's a great soundtrack and very evocative of the moods in the show/books.  I've wanted it since I started watching the tv show, and now it is mine!  Here's a taste:

Tomorrow I will be dressed for battle, so come back and see what that means!

Like every Monday, today is Visible Monday.  I was planning on skipping this Visible Monday, but I just love how this outfit turned out.  It's the lazy way to be visible.  Check out the ladies who weren't lazy with their visibility on Patti's Not Dead Yet Style blog!

  2. You've got me curious about the battle! You're right that making a good daily habit of polishing a look makes even the comfy days look better.
